Our Mission

The mission of the Lithonia Downtown Development Authority (LDDA) is to grow, strengthen and promote the economic health and vitality of Downtown Lithonia. As an autonomous agency of the City, the LDDA advocate, facilitate and execute realistic redevelopment strategies.

What makes Lithonia so great? It is the people, places, and things. We have come together to start businesses, grow food in community gardens, assist the elderly and help rare the young. We promote healthy lifestyles. You can walk or ride the Arabia Mountain trails or shop at our weekly Farmers Market. Come join us! The trail is waiting for you.

Lithonia is a great destination for artists from all walks of life. You can find beautiful murals and paintings throughout the city, displaying the beauty Lithonia has to offer.

Granite City is home to Luxor Lounge & Bistro, an after-hours bar, and lounge providing you with the best drinks in town. Luxor Lounge is the perfect spot to unwind after a long days work. In addition to Luxor Lounge & Bistro, The Stewart Amphitheatre is also located in the city. The amphitheater is the perfect getaway to enjoy your favorite artists live. The amphitheater seats approximately 2,300 comfortably.

Mission

The mission of the Lithonia Downtown Development Authority (LDDA) is to grow, strengthen and promote the economic health and vitality of Downtown Lithonia. As an autonomous agency of the City, the LDDA advocate, facilitate and execute realistic redevelopment strategies.

Our goal is to improve Lithonia through planning processes, special programs, and projects designed to advance the physical, economic and social well-being of downtown. We feel this strategy can be achieved by assisting the local stakeholders in finding community preferred solutions to community-defined issues.

How it Works:

The Lithonia DDA is an independent public agency of the City of Lithonia. The LDDA is funded by special grants and projects initiated by private developers and investors. An eight (8) member Board of Directors comprised of seven (7) public appointees and the Mayor. The Board’s policy direction is implemented by an interim Executive Director.
